We have just sourced this original vintage plan chest from the 1950s. These pieces are very 'hot' at the moment with collectors as they combine function and style and give an instant industrial edge with the warmth of aged wood. This chest has 6 A1 sized solid wooden drawers, which makes it easier to accommodate into a room design (rather than the AO versions that are typically found in architects). Lovely oak example with wooden handles and brass label inserts. Ever popular, plan chests are both functional and extremely attractive vintage items, and it is easy to see why as they instantly 'ground' a modern styled room or a mid century modern interior. PULL UP A CHAIR

We have some fantastic original vintage chairs just back from the workshop, re upholstered and ready to go are these two great examples of classic 1950s design. The chairs have no makers mark but have a Parker Knoll look to them, with a little Danish twist in the nice side profile - nice curved arms and sturdy frame. One is covered in a classic cream linen fabric with a button back, the other covered in a smooth orange tweed. First into the studio for photography is this beautiful example of Irish Modernism from the 1960s. This Crannac chair is made in solid teak and finished in a rich pistachio tweed fabric, fantastic original chair with really clean minimalist lines - and very comfortable! SHORT ORDER

Small is beautiful.... I am always getting asked to source small sideboards, and they are hard to find as the style in 50s and 60s was for larger units - some Danish examples can be 3 metres long! So it was great to discover this pocket size teak sideboard at a neat 122cms long. A really nice unit with two recessed cupboards and three drawers, this one will fit into the tightest mid century interior and still give loads of space. DINING ROOM

For those who like the slick mid century modern Hans Olsen dining set but not the price tag, here is a great alternative. This set is by McIntosh and is all original 1960s piece which references the best of Danish design. Extending teak table with four matching padded chairs - and just like the Hans Olsen set, the chairs fit neatly into the 'skirt' of the table (rather like wedges of a pie) - neat!
