The contemporary style of the 1950s was given a huge boost by the Festival of Britain in 1951, which provided the visual platform for the most talented designers of the age to shine. This was most evident in the textile design of the period which proved the quickest and easiest way to modernize your home. Some of the best designs were made by David Whitehead Ltd, their work features extensively in the V&A collection, including this fabulous design from 1954. Always on the lookout for original samples, we are delighted to have sourced two lengths of 'Flowerpots' designed by Tom Mellors for David Whitehead.
A stunning roller printed spun rayon it has all the key elements of contemporary design, stylized skeletal plant forms with blocks of colour combine to make this an iconic design. POA-info@kirkmodern.com
