G IT'S GOOD

A fabulous find, this G Plan Fresco table is as good as it gets.
G-Plan's top of the range, and the one that is most identified with the revival or retro style today, is GPlan Fresco introduced in 1966. This extending table has beautiful teak top with sculptural edging and legs in rosewood. A flip out middle section turns it into a fantastic 8 seater in seconds. POA info@kirkmodern.com

WAISTED

This Czech 1950s desklamp has echoes of Raymond Loewy hourglass designs with a sleek, waisted metal shade. A great 50s aqua colour it is as cute as a button and straight out of a MadMen set.

TIME GONE. BUY.

Another great clock find from the 70s. This is a Remington Swiss made wall clock in fantastic faux teak.
Beautifully simple, clear face, very much of its time.

TIME PLEASE

Sunburst clocks are always a great retro statement piece, and this is one of the nicest examples I have come across recently. It is a Smiths version from 1970s and has nice clean lines with great contemporary graphics. A little ray of retro sunshine.

BUREAU de CHANGE

The Dublin Brocante is this Sunday in Newmarket Square and I will be taking lots of new finds. One of the neatest and most useful pieces of furniture I have come across recently is this 1960s teak bureau on sputnik legs. A slim 29cms deep when closed it will fit into the tightest space and yet when the bureau is dropped it gives ample space for a laptop - and lots of storage. This one is at a 'come and get me price' as I have a new shipment arriving soon. POA - but be quick!

SLIM SHADY

This Flying Saucer ceiling light has just landed. A shallow convex hanging shade, suspended by four chains, this glass shade is in super condition. Probably European from 1950s it has sharp scraffitto graphics on a bright lemon and opaque white base. POA.

ONE TO WATCH

Nice to see the new (March) edition of BBC Homes & Antiques magazine featuring so many mid century retro inspired items, and always good to see a feature on Stig Lindberg. Chosen by Antiques Roadshow expert Will Farmer as the "One To Watch" it is a little behind time on the International market as there has been a lot of 'heat' in his designs for the last couple of years with the hand painted faience ware proving particularly popular in Japan and USA. The price guides are slightly low as I can't remember the last time I came across a piece of Stig for £15, even a piece of Bersa.
