OASIS OF DESIGN

Packing some pieces for MidCentury Modern in Bristol this Sunday, www.modernshows.com, and I had forgotten how beautifully delicate this Polish 1950s coffee set was. It will be joining the vast array of mid 20th century goodies on show in The Paintworks in Bristol, come along and submerge yourself in an oasis of great design from the MadMen era.

Sneak away with some mid-century bargains at the Bristol branch of Time Out magazine's favourite event. If you love sniffing around British, Scandinavian, European and American vintage design for the home this will be your Mecca with original furniture you can buy and have delivered on the spot from household names Charles and Ray Eames, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner and George Nelson. See Knoll and Saarinen jostling for space with original film posters, fabrics, lighting and the most collectable ceramics and glass from the post-war period to the late Seventies.
Set in the brilliant Paintworks development in South Bristol which recently won an award for the regeneration of 12 acres of industrial buildings along the banks of the River Avon, where many of the original buildings have been preserved and restored.

BOOMERANG TABLES ON THE WAY BACK!

This time it's official. A retro expert in Oz has confirmed that boomerang tables are definitely coming back. The lucky people attending the Dublin Flea tomorrow 25th, RetroRooms in Belfast on 2nd Oct and MidCentury Modern, Bristol on the 9th Oct, will be the first to get their hands on these newly arrived orange formica boomerang side tables (available for right and left handed retro fans) before they fly away. N.B. Please don't ask to have these posted as it really messes up our returns department!

Phew! I am glad I have just taken delivery of our newly restored Scandinavian sofa, I'm going to need a lie down.

ON THE TILES

The Dublin Brocante takes place this Sunday, and we will be showing a great new selection of recently sourced furniture and collectables. This stunning 1960s Belgian tiled table will no doubt be the star attraction with its bright colourful graphic on a beautiful chrome base. pop in and say hello to retro!

FALLING LEAVES

Apparently it's autumn, at least it is in the northern hemisphere, so to herald the change of seasons and brighten up the shorter days here are some Stig Lindberg dishes for all you 'leaf peepers'!
