ONE TO WATCH

Scandinavian ceramics have never been more sought after, and it's tempting to stick to the big names like Stig Lindberg, Upsala-Ekeby, Rorstrand, but there were lots of very creative small studios producing excellent work through the mid-century period. One name to watch out for is Laholm Keramik from Sweden, their work is not so well known yet and so prices are still reasonable. This elegant tall vase in striking monochrome matte glaze is a great example - a fantastic simple graphic design on a striking shape and very reminiscent of the work of Lindberg and Nylund but at a fraction of the cost.
