REID & RIGHT

In the years following the Second World War, John and Sylvia Reid were at the forefront of British mid-century modern design. They were employed as design consultants by Stag, and designed some iconic modern pieces. The first project John and Sylvia Reid did for Stag was a bedroom suite called Cumberland, or the `C` range, which was strikingly minimalist. The `C` range had a strong influence on the design of British mass market modern furniture throughout the Fifties.
We have just sourced a beautiful original example of a C range dressing table and chest of drawers in an oak finish. The dressing table is neat, at only 89cms wide, and comes with a Formica top which flips up to reveal a mirror and storage section - this unit would also make a fabulous desk or workstation. The chest of drawers is 76cms wide and matches the height of the dressing table at 75cms - both are raised on atomic wooden legs. An iconic original design from the 50s rarely seen in Ireland, and are now available as a set or separately. To reserve or view please contact geoff@kirkmodern.com
