TAIT MODERN


I am a big fan of Midwinter pottery from the 1950s, and in particular the designs of Jessie Tait, who sadly died earlier this year, http://kirkmodern.blogspot.com/2010/02/jessie-tait-631928-1412010.html.
My favourite design of hers is undoubtedly "Cherokee" (1957) and although I have a full set tucked away, I couldn't resist this recent find of a fabulous organic shaped gravy boat and a set of little two handled bowls. A real gem.

    I actually feel like I just learned something! I have never heard about Tait before (not a big ceramics follower?) but can def. dig this design and pattern...
